Autism: The Invisible Spectrum
Created for Autism Acceptance Month in April 2024, this ongoing collage series challenges misconceptions, misinformation, and everyday ableism surrounding the autistic experience.
“Spectrum” combines diagrams from nineteenth-century color theory texts and vintage science books to show a spectrum that is nonlinear and largely invisible to outside perception. “Causes” challenges the dangerous conspiracy theories that persist in our culture. The series opens a continuing conversation about understanding and acceptance beyond a single month.
